An Artist Biography

From a young child Betty has loved the world of nature and has spent much time observing it. She absorbed information about the effects of lights and shadows, changes of color and value, shapes and design. This background inspired her with the desire to express her observations on paper and canvas. She sketched and painted often and by seventeen she received her high school’s art medal. This encouragement propelled her to pursue art as a near minor while getting her BS in Education. Since then she has studied with many local and international artists to increase her skills. Her style leans towards representational expression. However, recently she has done some semi-abstracts, something she produced frequently in college. Betty uses watercolor and oil predominately and her work can be found throughout the US.
